The Hermanus Esplanade's winter promotion for pensioners had a group of guests from Probus Club in Melkbos thinking that R60 per person per night - including a delicious breakfast - really was too good to be true. Four sceptical pensioners were pleasantly surprised when they paid only R460 in total for a two-night stay. Here's a small (translated) excerpt from the guests' report:

Thank you very much- for the great hospitality you showed in our stay with the Hermanus Esplanade.

Our entire 4 nights was further enhanced by the dependability of knowing that the fireplace would be lit in the games room at 19H00 promptly each evening. Greater value was added in knowing that our kids were entertained by both guests and other kids staying at the Esplanade . For most parts Hermanus is not a kids-friendly holiday destination , but the combination of watching movies at Romantique , breakfast from Ou Crumps bakery, fishing at Sonskynbaai and evenings playing pool in the Esplanade games room - all contributed to an enjoyable breakaway for our family. Thank you very much Hermanus Esplanade family. 

* ps - perhaps the only area for improvement might be to enhance the serving of the breakfast menu, by added some variety such as fresh fruits , muesli , yogurt and removing the koffiesakkie coffee pot and replacing it with some instant Nescafe or other grounded variety. - Clarence
